Exclusive: T.I. “Castle Walls” ft. Christina Aguilera (Full Version)

Enough with the teasing, here’s the newest (and hottest) collaboration from genius producer Alex Da Kid. Though he’s currently serving his 11 month sentence, nothing’s stopping the release of his seventh studio album No Mercy.  Bound to be an epic & chart topping single, Castle Walls is a chillingly beautiful track by T.I. featuring Christina Aguilera.  Some are already calling this the new Love the Way You Lie

Watch: Christina Aguilera “Bound To You”

Dammit.  Yesterday, Adele.  Today, Christina’s doing it to me.  If anyone wants to know what to get me for Christmas, make it a lifejacket.  If power ballads like these keep coming out, I’m going to have to wear one all the time to prevent me from drowning in my own tears (I’m really not a sad case, just an emotional person at heart).  Despite a recent divorce and failed album, Christina’s still got it.  She blows our minds once again with her vocals on Bound To You, from her upcoming acting debut in Burlesque.  I think I might just have to see this one, even if the plot looks predictable.

Listen: Nicki Minaj ft. Rihanna “Fly”

I haven’t quite jumped on the Nicki Minaj bandwagon.  In fact, I’ve been pretty resistant.  Maybe I’m still disappointed that no one was feeling Nicki when Christina featured her on Wohoo.  Or maybe I’m still upset over her sampling Annie Lennox in Your Love.  Whatever the reasons, I am lifting the band on this native Queens, NY rapper and giving her a second third chance.  I don’t believe in posting music I don’t like (although I will admit sometimes it is necessary to mock/point out a really bad song) and Fly is definitely not a bad song.  Featuring who’s that chick Rihanna, Fly is a song about the empowerment of women.  According to Nicki, it speaks about flying, soaring high in the face of every single adversity that comes your way.  I am pleasantly surprised by Nicki’s Pink Friday album and even becoming a fan.  Well, my girl Missy ain’t around so I got no choice!  What do you think of Fly?

Listen: Cher “You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me”

Though Christina is about to make her acting debut in Burlesque, we cannot forget about her incredible co-star, Cher.  Cher has been around a long time, in the music biz and the movies - hell, she even won an Oscar for her acting ability in Moonstruck.  In classic Cher style, she gives us a big voice ballad with You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me.  And with a new album right around the corner (she’s in the studio now), it’s quite clear that we really haven’t seen the last of this 64 year old gay icon.  What do you think of her solo?  Is Cher turnin’ back time?

Download: Christina Aguilera “Spotlight”

Halloween has come and gone and so begins the Holiday season.  Soon after voting day comes to a close, your boob tube will be filled with all sorts of Holiday cheer, thanks to companies like Macy’s, Old Navy and Target.  Not too far out is Christina Aguilera’s acting debut in Burlesque.  Unlike a lot of critics, we loved her Bionic album.  Unfortunately, a lot of people (including Christina) have put that album behind them and moved along.  Here’s an early gift for our readers - Christina doing what she does best - singing one of the theme songs, Spotlight.

Reliving a moment

The music industry suffered a tragic loss when news broke out on Christmas morning that The Godfather of Soul, James Brown, died of complications of pneumonia. The industry knew they had to pay tribute to him in a very big way but who they would ask to pay tribute to the legend himself was on everyone’s mind. Well, none other than Christina Aguilera was asked to step up to the plate and I must say, she hit a grand slam with her performance.

In a music world that feels it’s been dominated by auto-tune lately, it’s hard for some people to really recognize soul anymore. But nonetheless, her performance received great recognition and was voted in the Grammy books as the 3rd best performance of all time. ALL TIME! To sum up her performance I’ll quote an ad that I saw for the Grammy’s the following year: Thank you, Christina, for reintroducing our jaws to the floor.

If she could turn back tiiiiooommmeee

The true Diva is back.  After a 10 year hiatus from producing new music, Cher is back in the studio working on her next creation.  She has been telling reporters that though it won’t be a dance album (such as her “Believe”) but will be taking her back to her roots of rock.  Think if “If I Could Turn Back Time.”  She’s also said to be working with the great ballad songstress, Diane Warren.  She’s said to be in the beginning stages of production, so it could be the end of this year before we hear anything leak.  She does have two songs on the upcoming “Burlesque” movie, co-starring Christina Aguilera.

This could either be a total bomb or a big hit.  Are you excited for Cher’s next musical endeavor?
