Karmin is starting to gain more momentum in the music world.  I even spotted them sitting in the audience at the American Music Awards.  Now if we could just get them on the Billboard Top 100.  They are totally deserving of a spot — especially with their next single to be released, Brokenhearted.  The cute guy/girl duo who made it big with their unique covers (and incredible rap verses) on YouTube are starting to grow into their own.  I even hear a little Jessie J influence on their latest, Brokenhearted.  Catch the duo on Saturday Night Live THIS weekend!!

This is a smart move on Christina & Adam’s part.  Their album sales for their latest did not do very well in 2010 and perhaps this is what they need to get some buzz about them again.  Moves Like Jagger is a new single by Maroon 5 featuring the great Christina Aguilera.  It’s got a nice dance feel, yet still in Maroon 5 tradition.  And Christina’s voice shines (as always) on the track.  They’ll be performing & debuting the song tonight on The Voice and immediately releasing it on iTunes for download.  Now if we can only get Christina to put out a new album before 2011 is up!

My electro-duo favorite Van Go Lion just recently released another single.  We Don’t Miss a Beat is available on iTunes now!

Nothing like an inspirational pop dance song to get your mood up and brighten your day.  Remember Dirty Vegas?  I first fell in love with these guys when I heard Days Go By during the Mitsubishi commercials of the early 2000’s… I even bought a Lancer (what a piece of shit that was!) - talk about excellent target marketing!  The British Duo have just released their third studio album, Electric Love, and well, I’m lovin’ it.  It’s got a feel-good electro-old-school vibe throughout, but with a lot more pop & soft rock vocals.  It’s really the perfect blend of sleepy soft rock music, shaken up by a few synth beats.  Perfect motivation on this Tuesday, only the second day of the work week (boo).  Take a listen to Today, one of my favorite tracks on the album.

Though Javier Colon was my favorite solo artist from last night’s The Voice, I cannot get over the duo act that is Elenowen.  With vocal similarities to that of Over the Rhine, Lady Antebellum and The Civil Wars, Josh & Nicole Johnson have left me thirsting for more.  After last night’s incredible performance of the Academy Award Winning Falling Slowly, I did some digging to find out more about this husband & wife duo residing in Nashville.  It turns out, last January they released their debut album Pulling Back The Veil, and it’s well worth the $8 on iTunes.  This is the reason behind why music is truly my biggest passion.  I know that Wonky Pop is constantly flooded with dance jams and remixes, but when an artist bares their soul and pours their passion into their music such as this, I am swept up and lost in the moment.  Thank you, Elenowen, for reminding me again what music is really about.
