Karmin is starting to gain more momentum in the music world.  I even spotted them sitting in the audience at the American Music Awards.  Now if we could just get them on the Billboard Top 100.  They are totally deserving of a spot — especially with their next single to be released, Brokenhearted.  The cute guy/girl duo who made it big with their unique covers (and incredible rap verses) on YouTube are starting to grow into their own.  I even hear a little Jessie J influence on their latest, Brokenhearted.  Catch the duo on Saturday Night Live THIS weekend!!

Exclusive: Gavin Beach EP "6" (Download)

Gavin Beach is a reminder as to why why I love music.  It’s heartfelt.  It’s emotional.  It’s talent.  Gavin possesses all of these qualities in a fine musician and it’s about time this guy gets discovered.  Every cover song he has done of Adele, Robyn, Michael Jackson and Jessie J are phenomenal.  They will have you mesmerized by his voice.  And have you in puddle of tears on the floor with his touching renditions, along with his talented friend Jamie Cleaton.  Gavin has been kind enough to let his fans download these 6 covers, for free.  Help spread the word of this yet-to-be-discovered singer by sharing this EP with your friends and family.  And follow Gavin Beach on Facebook and Twitter.

So great for Jessie J to be on SNL.  Though I didn’t watch it (cause I rarely watch SNL these days), she totally deserves this exposure here in the States.  This girl has serious talent and an incredible voice - two things that have been lacking in the pop music world over the past couple of years.

One of our favorite new artists, Jessie J, has released the video for her second single Price Tag (UK).  She has only released Do It Like A Dude in the US back in December and we’re anxiously awaiting what’s said to be her next release here in the States, Who You Are.  Price Tag is an upbeat song that captures Jessie’s distinct voice and good lyrics to boot.  Her debut album Who You Are is dropping in the UK on March 28th and in the States on April 12th.  Once again, the Brits make us wait a few weeks before we can grab this album up!  Expect it to leak in the States upon the UK release.

Cover & Download: Nadine & Daniel do Jessie J

I am speechless by the overwhelming talent of 16 year old Daniel & 13 year old Nadine Carasco, brother sister duo from the UK.  To hear Jessie J sing the original version of Price Tag live already had drowning in my own drool, and now this?  Wow.  I am quite impressed with the production and Nadine’s voice.  Though not comparable to Jessie J, Nadine has a voice meant to win pop lovers everywhere over - it’s sweet, fresh and playful.  I could see fans of Kate Nash, Lilly Allen and even Len (remember them?) gravitating towards Nadine.  Check out Jessie J and Nadine & Daniel’s versions below.  Which do you prefer?  DOWNLOAD Daniel & Nadine’s cover here.

A Woman With a Real Voice: Jessie J

Soul.  Power.  Real.  Those are just some of the words that describe newcomer Jessie J.  Once again, she has my jaw on the floor and goosebumps down my arms.  I may have even peed a little from getting so excited by her incredible voice. Someone quick, get a wee-wee pad under my desk!  Take a listen below of these two live performances by JJ and you might find yourself in a puddle of sheer wow-ism (yes, it’s a word).

Thanks Roger B. for telling me about these videos!

Listen: Jessie J “Who We Are”

As it goes with all things American, we love big.  Big cars, big houses, big plates of food.  But when it comes to music, we love big voices.  Jessie J is sure to satisfy your appetite for a large voice, for the power behind it will knock you off your feet.  If you could take the playful side of Katy Perry, blended with the attitude of Pink and some of the power of Christina (I can’t say all, because well, Christina is Christina), you’d get a mixture that is sure to make you drool.  The British singer began to make a name for herself writing commercials and more recently, writing the hit single Party In the U.S.A. by Miley Cyrus.  She finally listened to her management and has begun working on her first album, with the great Dr Luke.  Though her first UK single Do It Like A Dude hadn’t won me over, her team got it right by planning to release Who You Are as her first American single.  Upon first listen, you are sure to be blown away.  I haven’t been this excited about a new artist in a long time.
