A friend of mine informed me of another time Jennifer Hudson sang the Dolly Parton written I Will Always Love You, back in 2010 BET Awards honoring the great Ms. Houston.  This is what we could have heard last night, had the producers of the Grammys not given Chris Brown two slots in the lineup.  Clearly by the interaction of the two in this video, Jennifer had Whitney’s approval to tribute her.

Whitney, we love you.

And the performance of the night goes to….. Jennifer Hudson.  Simply perfect.

Covering Adele is a tough thing to do… but Monday night on The Voice, newcomer Angel Taylor served up a tasty dish of Someone Like You.  Raw, emotional and with a twist of her unique sound.  Bravo, Angel.  Hope to hear more great things from this singer!

Sara Bareilles gave us a real treat last night during her final show of the Kaleidoscope Heart tour at San Francisco’s Bill Grahams Auditorium.  She sang a new song, which her sister refers to as The Pirate Song (just watch, you’ll understand why).  It’s nice to know that even with the softer side of Sara B, she’s got a more humorous and free spirit than I had ever known.  Much love, Sara B!

Stephen Kellogg & the Sixers jump into the audience (typical) to have their fans join in a sing-a-long @ Slim’s in San Francisco.

Seriously wowed by last night’s performance of Demi Lovato on DWTS - Skyscraper.  The girl’s got some serious vocals.  She blew The Script out of the water (maybe his monitor wasn’t working properly…)

And the best performance of the night goes to…. ADELE.  She performed 100% live - and reminds us all what music is really about; soul, singer-songwriter, depth, passion and heart.  Love you, Adele.
