Adele has beaten Lady Gaga off the UK digital sales charts with her sophomore album 21. It’s about time music returned to what it’s all about: real talent, no theatrics, good songwriting, good vocals. Can we make this happen in the US now? As a friend of mine said “she sold millions without a meat dress, all the while doing it in a black poncho.” Congratulations Adele!

Being that it appears 2011 is the year of celebrities and musicians putting out their own scent for the masses, it only seemed a matter of time for Rihanna to join the ranks. I will say this much, I could give a crap less about what her perfume smells like ‘cause her commercial is absolutely beautiful (and even a lil’ sexual).

I am ecstatic knowing that finally, after many years of silence, Missy Elliott is working on her own music again. According to Timbland’s TimbalandThursdays.com site, Missy and Timbo have a dope track that is going to drop soon. And with his Thursday series, he’s dropped a free new track by Missy, Take Ur Clothes Off. It’s been a long time since the real queen of Hip Hop has been on the scene and it’s time for a comeback. Not that I don’t like Nicki Minaj or Lil’ Kim, but my hip hop beating heart belongs to Missy E. Are you excited for Missy’s return?

At Midnight (EST) On January 11thNew York, NY - Britney Spears’ new highly anticipated song “Hold It Against Me” will premiere simultaneously on radio stations and be available immediately in the U.S. exclusively on the iTunes store, Tuesday, January 11th at 12AM EST.
“Hold It Against Me” is produced by Britney’s long-time collaborators Max Martin and Dr. Luke and is the official lead single from her forthcoming album. The as-yet-untitled seventh studio album is slated for release in March 2011 on Jive Records.
Fans will have the opportunity to purchase the song exclusively on the iTunes store until 1/18.

We are about to launch the new Britney Spears single!! We are customizing a web widget for radio stations to “unlock” her single when 2 million fans share to their Facebook pages starting Monday, January 10th. Below is a description of how it will work. The station widget will be made custom for each station with their logo, tag, etc. and when fans/listeners share on their Facebook page it will say “STATION and I are helping Britney Spears …” which will also include a link back to your station site.
Here’s the flow of how it’ll work:
* The station will place the widget we send them on their homepage (in the event the widget isn’t compatible with the partner site, we will provide a hosted landing page branded with the station’s logo and a link back to their site that where the widget can live)
* The widget will use single artwork only and have the following copy, the Buy Link can go to any retailer:

Once Britney fans share this message 2 million times on Facebook she will release her new song

* The station drives fans to the widget to share the message into Facebook, for example:

What does this all mean? In a nutshell, the premier date of the single will be completely determined by the fans and when they reach 2 million! That’s the official release date!

Someday, everything ends.When You’re Through Thinking, Say Yes has a set release date of March 21, 2011 (though still wondering when the single will come out!). They’ll be touring the US with All Time Low. Looks like March is going to be a great month!
